A Black Perspective: Celebrating the Voice & Vision
PhotoSC is a Columbia, South Carolina photography gallery and nonprofit. A Black Perspective: Celebrating the Voice & Vision is a juried exhibition focused on Black photographers — celebrating diverse narratives exploring resilience, heritage, joy, identity, and the extraordinary aspects of Black life.
The brief is open in approach. Various photographic styles are accepted, including alternative practices and collage work. AI-generated work is not accepted.
Selection is by Arnika Dawkins, fine art photographer and founder of the Arnika Dawkins Gallery in Atlanta — a gallery specializing in imagery by and of African Americans.
Eligibility is restricted to Black photographers. Selected work is exhibited May 21 – June 19, 2026 at PhotoSC gallery, 918 Lady Street, Columbia, SC.
Practical production requirements: work must be printed 8×10 to 16×20 inches, framed, and ready to hang. Submission is through Smarter Entry with up to 5 prints. Fee is $35. The 2026 deadline was April 18; results announced April 28, 2026.
