43rd Center Annual
Houston Center for Photography (HCP) is a Houston-based nonprofit photography institution. The Center Annual is its longest-running group exhibition. The 2026 edition is the 43rd cycle.
The brief surveys current themes, technologies, and practices in photography rather than holding to a fixed theme. Eligibility is restricted to HCP members worldwide — emerging, mid-career, and established photographers all eligible.
Selection is by Asha Iman Veal, curator for globally collaborative exhibitions of contemporary art and Professor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Two artists are selected for $500 HCP Juried Membership Honoraria. Selected work is shown in the physical exhibition at HCP's Houston gallery, June 4 – August 16, 2026 — a long summer run.
Submission is through Submittable with up to 5 images. Application is free for HCP members. The 2026 deadline was April 19; results announced early May 2026.
