La Embajada 2026

Third edition of La Embajada, a programme promoting contemporary Spanish photography within the European circuit through an exhibition during the opening week of Rencontres d'Arles. Six projects selected, each artist receiving €1,400 fee. Selected photographers exhibit during the festival's opening week (July 6–13, 2026) and participate in active mediation with audiences. La Embajada creates a temporary 'embassy' to showcase photographic projects and foster professional connections at the epicentre of world photography. Organised by El Local (independent space for contemporary photography in Madrid) in partnership with Plataforma Fotografía e Imagen, with support from Spain's Ministry of Culture. Submit one project per applicant via digital form. Work must be produced and exhibition-ready. Physical presence in Arles during opening week is mandatory.
