From Image to Meaning – Tirana

Three full grants available for a seven-day intensive visual storytelling and writing workshop in Tirana, Albania (25–31 May 2026). Open to emerging and mid-career photographers, filmmakers, writers, and journalists working at the intersection of image and text. Led by documentary photographer Ilir Tsouko and writer Gabriel Proedl. Participants research, produce, edit, and present a short story combining photography, video (optional), and text. Culminates in a public group exhibition and presentation at Vila 31 x Art Explora. Selected projects (2–3) prepared for pitching to editors in Europe and the United States. Grants cover the full €750 participation fee (1 photographer, 1 writer, 1 filmmaker). Maximum 15 participants. Working language English, one-to-one mentoring also available in German and Greek/Albanian. Organised by Reporter Akademie (Germany) in partnership with Vila 31 x Art Explora (Tirana).
